how do you define success?
Hello everyone and Happy Friday! Mike Arend here, founder of Infinite Success Academy and author of "You're The One - an adventure into truth."
As founder and owner of Infinite Success Academy, I have lots of opportunities to talk to people about success in my business, and personal coaching practices. One thing I've found is how different people's definition of success actually is. One person will think running a million dollar business is success, while another feels making $50,000 a year and having lots of time off is the ultimate success.
Of course, there are plenty of non-monetary forms of success people tell me about too. Like being able to stay home with the children, having time to spend with the grand children, the freedom to travel, or write a book. The point is, that there are as many different ideas about success as there are people.
I'm not going to bore you with "my" definition of success, but I will tell you about the feeling I have about it. I feel there is this creative power that lives inside all of us. In fact, it "is" us, it's our being, our Soul. Some of us can feel this creative power very intensely, while others seemingly not at all. We've all heard people say, "I don't have a creative bone in my body." While technically this is true because your creativity doesn't reside in your bones, it's a statement that announces that they are not a creative person.
Then there's still others that either didn't feel their creativity as much, or because of life circumstances didn't have time to hone their creative skills, this is the group I fall into. Early on in life, with two young children, I was too busy surviving in order to be very creative. However, flashes of creativity would show themselves and I would make a mental note to pursue it further later on. Much later on, it turns out.
Turns out the creative power behind all success is the power of your being to recreate the unique expression of life, that is you, at this very moment. That's why everyone has a different take on success. We all live life looking through a pane of glass coloured with our own perceptions, and filtered by our beliefs. So you truly are a "unique" expression of life. Which follows that your success will be truly unique also. I know we like to pad our self-esteem and want to just "fit in", but that's simply not possible. You are unique and your success will be unique. Let go of trying to do what every one else is. Be yourself, the world wants to hear your message not some regurgitated message from someone else.
We are all one and came from the same source, but we're also all unique and unlike anyone, or anything else. We move through life on our own stage, but also participate in every other life that we touch. I liken it to being the big star of a movie, but also playing the parts of the extras too.
We all have tremendous creative power, in fact, you use it everyday. Every single day you are creating your life. All the little decisions you make today are already creating your tomorrow. Unfortunately, many of us allow it to lie dormant. Content to think we're not creative.
Well, sorry to have to tell you this, but you are the most amazing creative machine that has ever been invented in the entire Universe! With thought alone, you hold the key to your very success, whatever form it takes, and indeed the success of the entire human race.
You've been listening to the Mike Arend from Infinite Success Academy and it's been my absolute pleasure to serve you.
Be creative, be you, and be a difference maker in someone's life, today!
Bye for now!
Happiness's greatest secret?
Hello everyone! Mike Arend here, founder of Infinite Success Academy, and author of "You're The One - an adventure into truth."
It's not the realization of your dreams that will bring you happiness, it's the ability to enjoy your life as it is now. You see, we are naturally insatiable creatures; reaching for one goal, we immediately fix our sights on the next.
These pursuits of the next goal are our adventures. They keep us growing, and they keep us alive. Which means, the only constant in our lives is the journey we are on. A journey without end and one that is partially based on attaining things we don't have yet.
So the trick is learning to find happiness even while you do not have all you want yet, because you never will (go back and read that sentence again)!
If we postpone our happiness until we attain all our dreams, it will never happen. It's just a constant cycle and habit that never comes into fruition.
To enjoy life means to enjoy the journey you're on, even though the journey itself implies we are incomplete. Relax, everything's going to be OK. Allow yourself to enjoy your life in each and every moment. Take the time necessary to plan your days ahead and then return to that relaxed mode of enjoying life as it comes to us moment by moment.
This is happiness's greatest secret; and now you know it too!
